The answer is, Yes and No.
While houses that are newly renovated look more appealing to prospects when selling, it really depends on whether the renovation works suit the people that are going to buy the home.
Everyone has their own taste and how they would like the house to turn into. When this happens, all the renovation done to the house will not do much to the asking price as the buyer will be more interested to remodel the home to their preference.
Taking the above as a guideline. The renovation works will add value to the place, when the right buyer likes the place as it is.
The renovation works does not add value to the place, when buyer have a budget to remodel the entire place.
